I have received specialist training in Maternity reflexology from the Gaia School of Natural Health. It is aimed at women during their pregnancy and at the post-natal stage. Your body and mind are going through many changes. Taking time out for yourself and baby, during this journey, can help you find your inner calm. You are going through a joyous yet anxious time. As the time for baby to arrive is getting closer you will need to prioritise your relaxation in preparation for the birth.

Pregnant womanResearch shows that reflexology is one of the most popular therapies used by midwives and complementary therapists who work in maternity care.

Maternity reflexology could support your journey and help with:

  • Morning sickness
  • Constipation
  • Reducing swelling of feet and ankles
  • Aid with better sleep
  • Reduce stress and anxiety

I would welcome any calls to discuss the treatment further.

Please check with your Consultant, GP or Midwife before undergoing a course of treatments, particularly if you have previously experienced premature labour, high blood pressure, placenta previa or bleeding during pregnancy.

The Association of Reflexologists (AoR) have produced very informative videos with respect to the value of Reflexology in supporting Pregnancy:

Reflexology for Supporting the Maternity Journey

I have received specialist training in fertility reflexology.

I can support couples or individuals through your fertility journey, be that naturally, or if you are receiving IUI or IVF.

I would work with you individually or, preferably, as a couple, to prepare you for the conception. Fertility reflexology can aid with reducing stress and enhancing your emotional and physical wellbeing.

Every session would be tailored to your individual needs. I would like to see you both for an initial consultation, where full medical history and a discussion about all aspects of your health and journey to this point will take place. We will discuss the best way forward in preparation for possible conception.

I do not claim that reflexology will guarantees conception, however reflexology will hopefully aid with relaxation, this in turn supporting you emotionally and physically in your journey.

NEPIP is an abbreviation of:

Neurology – the study of the Nervous System

Endocrinology – the study of the Endocrine System

Psychology – the study of the mind and behaviour

Immunology – the study of the Immune System

Pody - meaning feet in Greek

BrainThis advanced reflexology protocol is at the cutting edge of Reflexology. Only Level 5 Reflexology Mastership students are taught this technique.

NEPIP focuses on the key areas in the body that are associated with stress and anxiety. NEPIP focuses on the endocrine, nervous and immune systems, with an understanding of psychology and the way that stress adversely affects these systems.

NEPIP is a specialised reflexology protocol based on the principle of PNI (Psychoneuroimmunology). PNI studies how the brain communicates with other systems of the body and how emotions can affect our health, and how stress can have a detrimental effect on our health. NEPIP works on the principle that each bodily system communicates with the other to optimise effective functioning.

The use of guided visualisation, breathing and intent are used within this protocol. It also incorporates the HPA Axis, (Hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis) that plays a pivotal role in controlling the body’s reaction to stress.

I work both your feet simultaneously, using a duopody technique.

A diagnosis of cancer can bring fear, anxiety, stress, pain, bodily discomfort and many more negative thoughts and feelings.

My mother received reflexology treatment during her palliative care. It was a very positive experience for her and I was amazed how such a light touch on the feet could bring on such inner peace and calm and reduce anxiety.

Holding handsReflexology is a light touch non-invasive therapy that is carried out on the feet or hands. You would not need to get undressed, or even move from your position, as I would be able to carry out a calming and therapeutic session with you on your bed or on your chair.

Reflexology is one of the most popular types of complementary therapy in the UK among people with cancer.

There is some evidence that reflexology can help you:

  • relax and cope with stress and anxiety
  • relieve pain
  • lift your mood and give a feeling of well being

If you are living with cancer and functioning well or not able to move around much, I would be able to discuss with you and your family/carers your needs and discuss the reflexology treatment that would best suit you.

I am very aware of the individuality of this journey and the importance of comfort and holistic care.

Treatment for clients suffering spinal pain and the effects of whiplash

This is an innovative manual therapy developed by Gunnel Berry, an NHS physiotherapist specialising in treating people with chronic and acute spinal pain, including whiplash. Gunnel has developed this protocol over ten years, having carried out extensive research and thousands of case studies. Pressure is applied to parts of the foot using a specific technique.

“Combining a medical understanding of spinal injury with the principles of reflexology, Adapted Reflextherapy (AdRx) is a non-invasive treatment for neuromusculoskeletal pain of short or long duration, high or low intensity. AdRx has been developed over ten years through treating thousands of people in pain within the NHS and private practice, reinforced by extensive desk research.

Clinical observations and individuals’ testimonies suggest that AdRx provides a breakthrough from pain for a significant number of people. Based on recent neurological research some deductions have been proposed as to how AdRx may work within the body. The exact mechanisms are not clearly understood to date and are subject to further enquiry. Reflextherapy is a recognised treatment modality by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists in the UK. AdRx builds upon this, with a particular focus on spinal injury.”

I offer workplace reflexology to support management of stress and anxiety in the workplace.

I have been working with staff in work settings, from schools to offices and virtual sessions with organisations.

Research shows that reflexology in the workplace can help reduce these feelings. Stress and over-anxiety have a direct negative impact on physical and psychological well-being. Using reflexology self-care techniques can support the journey to relax and reduce this stress.

I can work with whole teams or individuals to support their health and well-being.

Because of Covid 19 it is not possible to offer sessions in the workplace but I can create virtual session packages.

Would you like to discuss the possibility of having sessions in your workplace? Please contact me for further details.
